On November 22, 2020, within the framework of the opening ceremony of the 2020-2021 school year of the Hue University School of Engineering and Technology, the cooperation signing ceremony between the Representative of IIG Vietnam and the Board of Directors Lecturer on the implementation of English and IT assessment according to international standards TOEIC and MOS/ IC3 for students has succeeded.
Attending the signing ceremony, on the University side, there were Dr. Truong Quy Tung – Vice President of Hue University, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duan – Chairman of the Union of Hue University; Dr. Bui Van Loi – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the agency, chief of the office of Hue University; Dr. Nguyen Dang Huy – Deputy Head of the Party Committee’s Organization Department and leaders of member units under Hue University. On the side of IIG Vietnam, there were Ms. Pham Thi Khanh Phuong – Managing Director of IIG Vietnam Da Nang and representatives of related departments.
Established in 2019 in the context of strong globalization and digital transformation, the Hue University School of Engineering and Technology undertakes the mission of training, researching, and transferring science and technology in order to the purpose of meeting the actual needs of science and technology training, serving the community, and providing high-quality human resources in digital fields. To carry out its mission, the school has determined that English and IT play an important role, an indispensable package for each student. The school has selected IIG Vietnam – National Representative of the American Institute of Educational Testing (ETS) as a partner in the implementation of the international TOEIC and MOS/IC3 standards for students.
At the signing ceremony, representatives of the two sides identified agreements to implement the program. Specifically, in the field of English, IIG Vietnam will advise the faculty to step by step implement a roadmap to standardize the output for graduates of English proficiency using the TOEIC; counseling on using the online English program ED (English Discoveries); coordinate with the faculty to organize the English language test for input and output according to TOEIC standards. For the field of IT, IIG Vietnam will advise on the implementation roadmap to apply the International IT Standard MOS/ IC3 suitable to the students; provide teaching materials as well as G-Metrix preparation tools for students; coordinate to organize the MOS/IC3 exam for students according to the periodic plan. In particular, in order to successfully implement the English and IT assessment standards, IIG Vietnam will organize training courses on teaching methods of TOEIC and MOS/ IC3 according to international standards for faculty members.
At the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Khanh Phuong represented IIG Vietnam to award 20 online English scholarships to excellent students with difficult conditions.
The signing ceremony marked a new milestone in the educational development strategy of Hue University School of Engineering and Technology in two fields of English and IT. Through the cooperation between the two sides, the students will have access to international English and IT standards, thereby contributing to improving their qualifications and skills to meet the output standards of bachelors in Engineering and Technology, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources in the 4.0 period.
